The Solar House in Oxford Built in 1996 the solar house in Oxford incorporates a roof which is made entirely of solar panels facing south over the rear garden. Built on the principles of heavy mass and high insulation it incorporates a partially covered conservatory which is two storeys high and by a system of vents acts as a source of warm air and ventilation.

Services are stacked around a central core, which also acts as a passive stack drawing exhaust air up through out the building.
